First Time Apple Picking

Eating an apple.
With my Dad at the deserted apple orchard.

We went to an apple orchard on the hottest day of October yet. After taking off all of our apple-picking flannel shirts so we would not get heat-stroke, my Mom, Dad and I picked approximately 2 apples before making a bee-line for the apple cider slushie machine. Oh and those were the only 2 apples in all of the orchard still on the tree! Ok, there were a couple more but I think they were rotten or covered in bees.

My parents tell me of a dreamland called Carter Mountain Apple Orchard in Charlottesville where the apple trees are plentiful, the views are super gorgeous and the apple cider doughnuts are worth driving 9 hours for. I won't be making it there this year but hopefully next!
